What leaves with the flight box, and what you can still reserve after it

A flight is not one of the thirty days, so the box hands that question to a company that sells seats. This page says which six entries travel, what is worked out where you stand, and what never moves at all.

The six entries, and no seventh

The whole list is six items long: departure airport, arrival airport, the day out, the day home when there is one, which cabin, and a head count split three ways by age. Your name is not on that list. Neither is any address for writing to you, nor a telephone number, nor a single character from the booking form you may have filled in elsewhere on this site. There is no field here that collects such things, and none is quietly added later.

Who answers, and on whose terms

They arrive at a booking company, a firm apart from this office, met by way of a host carrying a name this domain hands it. Every figure it returns is that company's own and is true of its systems at the moment it appears. A seat it holds sits in its records. Where a card is wanted it is typed over there, on its pages, this website having no field able to accept those digits and no plan to grow one. The ticket issues under its conditions and under nothing written here.

Should a purchase follow, whatever that company settles with this office was agreed long before you arrived and comes out of its own margin. Your total does not move because of it.

A flight has never been one of the days

Worth saying plainly on a page about a flight box: this office arranges no carriage. Thirty days stand on the sheet, each one priced on the ground, and the crossing to reach any of them has never been inside those figures. No airline holds a contract here and no ticket is issued here. The box exists because the question is a real one and pointing at a company that answers it is more use than silence.

The counting that stays on your machine

Whatever appears beneath the fields was calculated on your own machine and goes to nobody. Put in two dates and the box measures the gap in days, then reports what filling that gap off the sheet would come to for however many people the fields say, taking the lowest of the thirty and then the highest.

The count of days and both ends of the price come out of the same catalogue file the sheet is built from, read once while the pages are made, so the box and the sheet cannot quote different figures. None of it is a quotation.

Where the date fields stop, and why

The date fields refuse anything already behind us and anything roughly eleven months ahead. That is as far as the schedules the booking company can see extend, so past it a search finds nothing and answers blank, which on a page like this reads as breakage rather than as an empty calendar. Refusing it outright is the more honest of the two.

The booking form is the other direction

The booking form on the rest of this site runs the other way entirely. It carries the days you have ticked to this office and to nobody else, the booking company never sees it, and it exists so somebody here can write back to you. Neither can read the other: what you type in the box never reaches the form, and what you type in the form never reaches the box.
